Hugill's Message
by Wendy Mills
Hugill Macauley is an organ-grinding monkey from a long line of organ-grinders. Since birth he has constantly been on the move with his family from country to country, living through great wars, poverty and trial as well as through grand adventures. Now, at an advanced age, Hugill goes on his last adventure to Africa in search of his roots and thus, he hopes, his final resting place. On this journey he makes the greatest of discoveries and wishes the world to know so he invites his dear old friend Grandfather Darwin of Leicester Square Underground (Piccadilly Line) to come and find him. After all, what better creature in the world would help him tell his story than his beloved and wise Grandfather Darwin.

Desert's Edge
by Wendy Mills
Accompanied by Warrior and the Perceiver of the Furthest Distance, Grandfather Darwin and Livingstone have spent many weeks with Hugill and Kush in their Eden Garden, recovering from their Great African Expedition. One fine morning, Grandfather decides to take Livingstone to Egypt which is, after all, in Africa and not so very far from the route back to their home in Leicester Square Underground Station, London.
Grandfather believes that time spent in the desert and an encounter with some of the ancient mysteries of Egyptian antiquity will enrich all that they have learned from Hugill about Continuity and the Cycle of Being.
There is an added reason to make this journey: they are going in search of Grandmother Darwin’s long-lost cousin, Gertrude, a hieroglyphics expert, and archaeologist.
What follows is a journey that takes the intrepid pair even deeper into the inner workings of Earth and into the Land of the Soul.

A Tale In The Wind
by Wendy Mills
That particular summer’s morning was no different to any other, yet for Bwang, Esteemed Keeper of the Roots of the Tree which links Heaven and Earth, it became the greatest upheaval of his life. For once it had nothing to do with the Roots; it was two humans, Bushmen from the South of the Continent, who should not have been there and who certainly should not have known where the Tree was located!
Thus begins a fearful quest to bring healing and hope where it is most needed.
